Mathqaf

Not to be confused with Mathaf, Mathqaf is an Instagram account that curates modern and contemporary art from WANA. Some of my favorite research projects were originally conceived from a painting or an artist that they featured (hello, Huguette Caland! Hello, Lalla Essaydi!). I feel like they’re the type of page that the internet exists for—a place where stumble upon something new and altering that you immediately want to integrate into your world view or your list of things you care about (or maybe that’s just me). They also used to have an excellent website where they published artist profiles and research papers, but it appears to be under construction at the moment.
