Binoculars

I purchased a pair of binoculars at the thrift store a while back, and then a few weeks ago I went birding for the first time! It was surprisingly fun and I enjoyed seeing birds and alligators and turtles, but, more significantly, I LOVED looking through my binoculars. Maybe there’s something philosophical about it—a literal way of perceiving things differently than you usually do—but I think it’s just that it makes me feel like Harriet the Spy. Or maybe it’s that I’m somewhat visually impaired and it’s novel to see really far away things. 10/10 recommend. Buy yourself a pair and sit by a window or on the beach and just look at things super close up for no reason.
